Supported by grants from the nordmedia Film- und Mediengesellschaft Niedersachsen/Bremen mbH and in collaboration with Check Chemie UG, we developed a mobile app for iOS and Android that should assist and empower pupils in acquiring knowledge for chemistry class playfully all by themselves.

It was our task to develop and implement a serious gaming concept, which transforms a seemingly cumbersome subject into an entertaining experience by putting it in a new context.
Besides conception and development, a special focus was given to the creation of a uniform visual style that pervades the entire application.
In Check! Chemie the player supports the genius scientist Mario Monoditri and the mechanic Alice Aktorik with their plan to build an interstellar spaceship. Three different exercises, each with three difficulty levels, are tailored to teach the players a range of chemistry fundamentals. Every exercise features a step-by-step tutorial, which illustrates the functionality and operation. With increasing difficulty, the serious learning game turns into an exciting puzzle and logic game.
